Role Overview
This position is an entry- to mid-level opportunity within IT support and infrastructure. The selected person will assist end users, keep systems running reliably, and help maintain hardware, software, and network environments.
What the Role Involves
- Respond to technical issues and work through troubleshooting steps to find solutions.
- Look after IT systems, servers, and broader infrastructure.
- Administer user accounts and control access rights.
- Process and close helpdesk requests in an efficient manner.
- Support network stability, speed, and connectivity.
- Set up and configure computers, devices, software, and related equipment.
- Assist with system protection, updates, and security-related tasks.
- Keep accurate IT records, logs, and documentation.
Core Duties
Technical Support: Identify and resolve issues affecting hardware, software, and systems.
System Administration: Support servers, operating systems, and user work environments.
Helpdesk Operations: Triage incoming support requests and prioritize them appropriately.
Network Assistance: Help with LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, and other connectivity problems.
Installation and Setup: Prepare devices, applications, and IT hardware for use.
Security Assistance: Support antivirus management, access control, and cybersecurity tasks.
Documentation: Record incidents, fixes, and system changes clearly.
Maintenance and Upgrades: Apply patches, updates, and system improvements when needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Comfortable solving problems and diagnosing technical issues.
- Has working knowledge of common operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or macOS.
- Understands core networking concepts.
- Communicates clearly and can support users professionally.
- Can remain effective when working under pressure.
- Pays close attention to detail.
Education and Qualifications
A diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP is expected.
Familiarity with helpdesk platforms and ticketing tools is useful.
Basic system administration knowledge is required.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are considered an advantage.
Prior internship or IT support experience is preferred.

This role can lead to progression from IT Support or Helpdesk Executive to System Administrator, then to Network Administrator, IT Manager or Infrastructure Manager, and eventually Head of IT or IT Director.
