Role Overview
Transdev Ontario Manitoba is hiring a full-time IT Support Specialist for an open position in London, Ontario. This role reports to the IT Manager and helps keep daily IT operations running smoothly through the IT Helpdesk.
Please note that this position must be performed on site at the London, Ontario office and is not eligible for remote work.
Key Duties
- Keep an eye on the help desk queue, handling tickets in priority order on a first-in, first-out basis.
- Act as the first contact for employees who need technical help by phone or email.
- Use diagnostic questions and remote troubleshooting methods to identify issues.
- Choose the most appropriate fix based on the problem details provided.
- Guide users through the steps needed to resolve their issue.
- Escalate unresolved matters to the next support tier.
- Share clear and accurate information about IT products and services.
- Document incidents, issues, and resolutions in tracking logs.
- Follow up with internal users and keep them updated on progress.
- Relay employee feedback or suggestions to the relevant internal team.
- Look for opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
- Handle other assigned duties as needed.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is CAD 45,000 to CAD 55,000 annually, depending on experience and certifications.
Working Conditions
The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with an after-hours on-call rotation.
Requirements
- A college diploma or an equivalent qualification in an IT-related field is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar support role is needed.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams and SharePoint is expected.
- Working knowledge of ticketing or case management platforms is necessary.
- Experience supporting smartphones and tablets, including Android and iOS devices, is required.
- Good technical understanding, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting ability are essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment is important.
- A valid full G driver’s licence with a clean driving record is required.
- A clear criminal record check must be provided.
- Strong communication skills, organization, multitasking ability, and customer service focus are needed.
- The candidate must be able to work on site in London, Ontario.
