Role overview
This contract opportunity is for an IT PMO Project Coordinator supporting a major client in a fully remote setup. The assignment runs for 5 months with the possibility of extension. The pay range is $33 to $39 per hour, and the role must support Eastern Time hours. Candidates based near Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC are preferred.
What you’ll do
- Partner with the Project Manager on day-to-day coordination and administrative support for assigned IT projects.
- Track project objectives, deadlines, priorities, resource needs, and financial activities.
- Help prepare presentations and handle scheduling and other coordination tasks as needed.
- Own and maintain financial tracking for forecasting and spend monitoring.
- Update systems used to record and manage project expenditures.
- Track dependencies across projects and communicate status as needed.
- Support project managers in building and maintaining work plans.
- Keep the document repository current so critical project information stays accurate and accessible.
- Help ensure deliverables meet project and portfolio management standards for quality, timing, and outcomes.
- Coordinate quality reviews of important project documents and artifacts.
- Lead discovery sessions for performance testing needs on assigned projects.
- Manage changes that affect the testing timeline or testing process.
- Coordinate work across vendors, functional groups, technical teams, business stakeholders, and IT leaders.
- Support project and business teams in developing test scripts.
- Provide ongoing reporting on quality and testing status throughout the project lifecycle.
- Help define test plans, test approaches, and success measures for each testing cycle.
- Coordinate defect management by working with the right teams to investigate root cause and determine the best resolution path.
Who this role supports
The coordinator reports to the Finance and Performance Lead and also has a dotted-line relationship with the assigned IT Project Manager. The Project Manager retains overall ownership of project delivery, while the coordinator provides support.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical ability, including the capacity to assess project risks and make sound decisions based on risk evaluation.
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and operate with minimal supervision.
- Strong skill in facilitating meetings and discussions.
- Solid financial understanding related to project budgets and spend.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration strengths.
- Comfort working in changing environments and managing several project assignments at once.
- Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Hands-on experience with Planview for resource and financial management.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
Additional terms
This role requires candidates to support EST hours. Remote work is 100% remote, though local candidates near Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC are preferred. Employment is offered on a 5-month contract basis with a possibility of extension.
