Role overview
This position is for an experienced IT Business Analyst focused on the IT/OT space within industrial and plant operations. The role connects operational teams and technology functions, turning business needs into workable solutions and helping keep plant systems dependable, available, and continuously improving.
The selected professional will work across business analysis, support for operational technology applications, management of plant information systems, coordination with external vendors, and enhancement of IT/OT platforms. The environment calls for hands-on understanding of industrial applications, process historians, manufacturing systems, software development, and process improvement.
Business analysis and requirements handling
- Collect, assess, document, and confirm both business and technical requirements from relevant stakeholders.
- Run discussions and working sessions with users to uncover automation opportunities and system enhancement needs.
- Convert business needs into functional and technical requirement documents.
- Create process flows, workflows, use cases, and related system records.
- Serve as the link between business users, vendors, automation specialists, and IT teams.
IT/OT systems support
- Provide support and upkeep for Plant Information Management Systems and other OT applications.
- Help maintain strong system uptime, dependable performance, and minimal operational disruption.
- Track system health and identify areas where performance can be improved.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to close technical issues and roll out improvements.
- Handle configuration changes, upgrades, patches, and software releases.
Honeywell and industrial application support
- Administer, maintain, and support Honeywell Plant Information Management System (PIMS).
- Support Honeywell PHD Process Historian Database and related components.
- Work with Honeywell Uniformance Process Studio (UPS), PHD Configuration Tool (PCT), Advanced Formula Manager (AFM), Uniformance Excel Companion, Alarm Management System (AMS), operations monitoring tools, and production balance applications.
Baker Hughes systems support
- Support Baker Hughes monitoring and operational applications used in plant settings.
- Coordinate maintenance and improvement work with Baker Hughes support teams.
- Investigate system problems and help keep operations running without interruption.
- Manage integrations and data exchange between plant systems.
Software development and integration
- Build and maintain web and desktop applications using Microsoft technologies.
- Design interfaces that connect OT platforms with enterprise systems.
- Create and support APIs, web services, and system integrations.
- Assist with database development and reporting needs.
- Develop dashboards and reports that support operational decisions.
Testing and quality assurance
- Carry out unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Arrange and support user acceptance testing with business users.
- Confirm that delivered solutions align with business expectations and quality requirements.
- Prepare testing plans, test cases, and supporting documentation.
Maintenance, troubleshooting, and governance
- Investigate and resolve incidents and operational issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and put preventive actions in place.
- Manage application life cycle activities and system enhancement work.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, patching, and governance standards.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, installation instructions, and user guides.
- Keep architecture and configuration records current.
- Support audits and regulatory compliance activities.
Continuous improvement
- Look for opportunities to streamline processes and advance digital transformation.
- Research new technologies and suggest practical improvements.
- Take part in IT and OT improvement initiatives and projects.
Required background
A bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience supporting IT/OT systems in industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, oil & gas, or process plant settings, along with 3–5 years of practical .NET development experience. Exposure to Honeywell and/or Baker Hughes operational platforms is expected, as well as experience in business analysis, system implementation, and software development projects.
Technical expertise
- Industrial platforms such as Honeywell PIMS, Honeywell PHD Historian, Uniformance Process Studio, Alarm Management Systems, production monitoring systems, and operations monitoring solutions.
- Baker Hughes plant systems.
- Microsoft .NET Framework and .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, web services, APIs, and Windows application development.
- Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, including database design, query tuning, reporting, and data analysis.
- Patch management, system integration, process automation, OT infrastructure support, industrial data historians, dashboard development, cybersecurity awareness, and network fundamentals.
Preferred certifications
Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Microsoft Certified Developer, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, industrial automation credentials, and Honeywell or Baker Hughes system certifications are preferred.

Compensation and notice period
The compensation is competitive and will depend on qualifications and experience. A notice period of immediate to 30 days is preferred.
