Role overview
We are looking for a seasoned IT Agile Project Manager with AWS exposure who can lead software delivery initiatives end to end. The assignment is remote, based in Canada, and runs for 12+ months on a contract basis. The client is a product-focused organization that builds SaaS-based Human Resource Management System (HRMS) solutions for public sector customers. Release coordination is an important part of the assignment.
What you will do
- Guide Agile software projects from initiation through delivery using Scrum, SAFe, or a blended delivery model.
- Oversee cross-functional teams spanning product, engineering, QA, and UX.
- Run core Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Keep scope, schedules, and business objectives aligned while actively handling risks and dependencies.
- Set up and continuously improve Jira dashboards and workflows to show sprint progress, story points, velocity, burndown, and backlog health.
- Create detailed Jira reports for sprint monitoring, release planning, team capacity, cycle time, and throughput.
- Prepare executive-ready reporting through BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, and EazyBI to highlight status, KPIs, trends, and forecasts.
- Connect Jira, Confluence, and external BI tools into a unified reporting setup for better project visibility.
- Define reporting standards and best practices for delivery metrics, quality measures, and trend analysis across Agile teams.
- Track project health, resource usage, blockers, and risks, and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
- Drive ongoing improvement in Agile execution, sprint outcomes, and reporting quality.
What we are looking for
- At least 10 years of IT project management experience, with a strong focus on Agile software delivery.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in Jira, including custom workflows, filters, dashboards, automation, and reporting add-ons such as Jira Advanced Roadmaps, EazyBI, and BigPicture.
- Practical experience designing and running reporting frameworks with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar solutions.
- Solid knowledge of Agile metrics and KPIs, including velocity, sprint burndown, cumulative flow, lead time, cycle time, defect leakage, and story point trends.
- Background in managing multiple remote Agile teams in a fast-moving SaaS environment.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to translate complex project information into concise reports and visuals for executives, product teams, and engineering teams.
- Preferred certifications include PMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, or a comparable credential.
