Job description

About the Role

Our client, a prominent hotel investment platform based in London, is looking to hire an ambitious Investment Associate. This role presents a remarkable chance for an analytically skilled investment professional to collaborate with a seasoned team that manages the sourcing, underwriting, and execution of hotel investments throughout Europe. The platform has grown from a traditional owner-investor model to a refined investment firm, managing both proprietary and third-party capital. Employees benefit from direct involvement in acquisitions and strategic decision-making alongside senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Support the underwriting, execution, and management of hotel acquisitions across various European markets.
  • Develop detailed financial models and analyze investment opportunities thoroughly.
  • Conduct commercial due diligence and prepare investment documentation for senior management and investment committees.
  • Manage the entire transaction lifecycle by working with internal teams—asset management, operations, finance, commercial—and external advisors, lenders, and legal counsel.
  • Gain exposure to investments funded by proprietary and institutional joint venture capital structures.
  • Engage closely with the hotel platform’s operational performance, gaining insights beyond acquisitions.
  • Work alongside investment leadership, including CEO and ownership group, in a lean structure that encourages early responsibility.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between 2 to 4 years of experience in Investment Banking, Real Estate Investment Banking, Corporate Finance advisory, or principal investment roles.
  • Strong expertise in real estate transactions with the capacity to build complex financial models from the ground up.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of valuation techniques, investment analyses, cash flow modeling, and commercial real estate fundamentals.
  • Ability to articulate model mechanics, assumptions, and their commercial consequences clearly.
  • Outstanding academic credentials with a degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Fluent in English and at least one additional European language; proficiency in German, Polish, Italian, or others is advantageous.
  • Excellent commercial judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to take ownership early on.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, humble, and supportive with a strong work ethic.
  • Genuine passion for hospitality and operational real estate with aspirations to develop a long-term career in hotel investment.

About the Company

The client is one of Europe’s largest privately-owned real estate investment firms. Recently, it has transformed into a sophisticated investment entity managing proprietary and institutional capital across a hospitality portfolio spanning Europe. The company owns and operates approximately 130 hotels via an integrated platform, combining acquisition proficiency with strong operational capabilities led by nearly 100 professionals. This close integration provides investment staff with unique insights between underwriting, ownership, and asset performance.

The corporate culture values entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration, ambition, and flat hierarchies that enable rapid assumption of responsibility. Individuals showing initiative and exceptional skills receive noteworthy exposure to senior executives and owners early in their professional journey.

Interview Process

  • First stage: Cultural and competency interview
  • Second stage: Two-hour financial modeling exercise, plus presentation and technical discussion
  • Third stage: Final in-person interview with CEO
