About the company

Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) operates on a large global scale, employing more than 100,000 people across 14 countries in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. The business manages over 500,000 hectares of palm oil plantations in Indonesia, including smallholder farms, and has placed sustainability at the core of its operations since 1997. GAR is a seed-to-shelf agribusiness rooted in palm oil and is also expanding into other important crops such as sugar, soybean, sunflower, and coconut. About the role

The Internal Communications Lead will shape and deliver a full internal communications strategy that keeps employees informed, aligned with business priorities, and engaged through clear, timely, and relevant messaging. The role also owns the execution of content across the internal communications platform and supports employee campaigns and events for GAR’s global workforce.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and drive the internal communications roadmap so employees receive regular, useful, and consistent updates on the business and its key messages.
  • Oversee end-to-end content planning and publishing for the internal communications portal, including editorial ideas, scheduling, article sourcing, editing, approvals, and coordination of event timelines with teams such as HR and IR.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver employee engagement events and communication campaigns.
  • Develop storytelling and corporate messaging that strengthen GAR’s reputation as a responsible agribusiness and support employer branding.
  • Share suitable content with the content marketing team for use on the company website and social media channels.
  • Handle internal crisis communication support when needed, working with relevant stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across functions to continuously source timely, relevant, and engaging stories for the editorial pipeline.
  • Produce communication materials for internal use, including brochures, leaflets, videos, infographics, and similar formats.
  • Create content submission SOPs and tone-of-voice guidance to ensure materials meet standards for a global audience.
  • Promote internal communications practices, learnings, and successful ideas across offices in different countries.
  • Track content performance, interpret results, and recommend improvements to increase communication quality and effectiveness.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned by the Head of Corporate Communication, Global; the Vice President of Strategic Communication and Branding; and the Chief Sustainability and Communication Officer.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a closely related discipline; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia, with the ability to communicate across Indonesian and global audiences.
  • At least 5 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a similar function, either in an agency or within a multinational company.
  • A demonstrated history of designing and implementing communication strategies that improve employee engagement.
  • Exposure to the palm oil sector, agriculture, or other commodities is beneficial but not essential.
  • Comfort using MS Office and other communications platforms or tools.
  • Ability to use analytics to assess communication outcomes and improve effectiveness.
  • Skill in developing clear, persuasive content in different styles and formats for varied audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities for gathering, researching, and presenting information in engaging ways.
  • Excellent project management, organization, and multitasking capabilities.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively across functions.
  • High cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and regions.
