Role overview

This position sits within Cisco’s SMB sales organization and is focused on helping drive growth across a defined small and medium business territory. The role combines consultative selling, technical awareness, and close coordination with partners and internal teams to support business outcomes for customers.

You will work in a highly transactional environment, manage opportunities created through partner and marketing activity, and help keep the sales pipeline healthy. The role is centered on direct SMB customer opportunities rather than MSP, wholesale, or partner-as-customer business.

Key responsibilities

  • Meet the assigned quota for the SMB account list within your allotted territory.
  • Qualify, track, and progress opportunities that originate from partners and marketing programs.
  • Partner with channel stakeholders to improve accountability, move deals forward, and close business.
  • Stay current on market shifts, industry trends, and competitor activity to guide day-to-day partner engagement.
  • Work on direct SMB customer deals, excluding MSP, wholesale, and partner-customer motions.
  • Spot cross-architecture opportunities and coordinate with the SMB Pod and partners to pursue them.
  • Build a solid understanding of Cisco SMB solutions, promotions, offers, campaigns, and partner programs.
  • Collaborate with the Account Executive - SMB and Security sellers to keep pipeline records accurate and up to date.

  • Using Cisco guiding principles consistently in everyday decisions and interactions.
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation within the Pod structure.
  • Balancing direct customer selling with effective partner engagement across the territory.
  • Communicating Cisco’s portfolio clearly and presenting the “One Cisco Story” with confidence.
  • Developing trusted relationships that help partners and customers deliver results.
