Role overview

The Industry Principal for Power & Utilities will sit within the global industry team and play a central role in generating demand for AVEVA’s products and services through deep sector expertise, sales support, and thought leadership.
This role is designed to help customers navigate their business challenges while enabling the sales organization to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience across regions. The position is based in Singapore or Malaysia, with flexibility to work from home or from an AVEVA office in Asia. The scope may extend across Asia Pacific and beyond.
Key responsibilities
- Expand AVEVA’s reach and market presence across the power and utilities value chain.
- Develop senior-level relationships with customers and partners to strengthen the wider ecosystem.
- Assist multiple sales opportunities by bringing in industry-specific insight and expertise.
- Track business drivers, industry trends, and competitive pressures, then shape AVEVA’s response to improve value for customers.
- Contribute to sales enablement and build regional capability.
- Design value propositions, new use cases, and supporting materials for products and solutions.
- Maintain industry marketing content that supports sales and marketing programs.
- Represent the brand and lead industry events and campaign activity.
- Work as part of a virtual team supporting strategic industry sales and regional strategy.
- Build effective working relationships with people, teams, and organizations both inside and outside AVEVA.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred, and a STEM background is especially valued.
- At least 10 years of direct industry experience, including operational and/or engineering exposure in two or more relevant industry areas.
- Strong commercial judgment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to present executive-level value messages clearly and persuasively.
- Proven business development success within an industry vertical.
- A forward-looking mindset, with a reputation as a change driver and early adopter of technology.
- Successful experience in consultative selling at senior executive level.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 40% to 60% of the time.

- Experience in software sales is strongly preferred.
- Backgrounds suited to this role include professionals already based in Asia and comfortable working from home or an AVEVA office.

Working model
AVEVA follows a hybrid approach by default, with employees typically expected in their local office three days per week. Some roles are fully office-based, and roles tied to specific customers or markets may be fully remote.
