Role Summary
This full-time remote position is centered on day-to-day import and export activities. The selected professional will coordinate trade paperwork, monitor shipments, and work with logistics partners, customs brokers, and internal teams to keep goods moving smoothly across borders. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee routine international trade operations to ensure shipments are handled in a timely and compliant manner.
- Prepare, organize, and verify import/export documentation and shipment records.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to support smooth cross-border movement.
- Review applicable trade regulations and keep track of regulatory changes that may affect shipments.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to customs and trade activities.
- Support clients in achieving efficient and cost-conscious customs clearance.
- Investigate and resolve shipment delays, documentation gaps, and other trade-related issues.
- Prepare status updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Recommend process improvements to improve compliance, efficiency, and overall trade operations.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of import and export operations, including documentation and shipment coordination.
- Understanding of customs brokerage practices and experience working with customs authorities for compliant clearance.
- Working knowledge of international trade, including trade rules, Incoterms, and cross-border compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with excellent organization and close attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders in a remote setting.
- Comfort using standard office applications and trade management tools; familiarity with ERP or logistics software is a plus.
- Prior exposure to import/export, logistics, or trade compliance work is preferred.
- Certification or coursework in international business or supply chain management is advantageous.
