Job description

Role overview

This position is central to the onboard entertainment experience enjoyed by Qatar Airways passengers around the world. It is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily operation of content across inflight entertainment (IFE), Live TV, Video-on-Demand (VOD), and related digital channels.

The role ensures that content libraries are scheduled correctly, refreshed on time, and delivered according to aircraft content timelines and audience data. Working with international content partners, internal operations teams, and technology vendors, this position helps deliver a premium entertainment experience that matches the airline’s brand standards and enhances the passenger journey.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain content schedules for VOD catalogs, Live TV channels, and IFE entertainment rotations so that content is available accurately and on time.
  • Curate programming across genres, regions, and audience groups such as movies, television series, children’s content, sports, and regional offerings to strengthen passenger engagement.
  • Create themed collections, highlighted playlists, and packaged viewing experiences that improve discovery and viewing completion.
  • Develop editorial content bundles tied to seasonal themes or story-driven programming concepts.
  • Apply licensing rules, territory limitations, and regulatory requirements to ensure all programming remains fully compliant.

Experience and qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification and bring at least 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal background includes broadcast programming, OTT scheduling, or IFE entertainment planning. The role also calls for the ability to manage and refresh large content libraries, coordinate schedules across multiple platforms, and work confidently with metadata, cataloguing, and content classification systems.

Strong editorial judgment is important, along with the ability to liaise effectively with content suppliers, distributors, and internal teams across global markets.

Preferred exposure

Additional value will come from experience in airline inflight entertainment, Content Service Providers (CSPs), OTT environments, or digital media programming. Familiarity with scheduling platforms, media asset management tools, catalogue systems, and content analytics is also useful, as is an understanding of international entertainment markets, multicultural programming, and rights or territory restrictions.
