About CEM
Christian Education Ministries (CEM) is a Protestant, non-denominational Christian education organisation focused on helping every student grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically so they can reach their potential and positively influence those around them. The organisation places strong emphasis on educational excellence, with students being known, loved, and taught well by committed, trained Christian staff.
CEM continues to expand and now operates 17 schools, including the Australian Christian College schools, along with 3 early learning centres across 5 states. It is also Australia’s largest non-government provider of distance education and home schooling.
About the role
This position is an opportunity to build ICT capability while working with a wide range of technologies. The role supports the ICT requirements of Australian Christian College - Moreton, a growing Christian P-12 school with more than 1,000 on-campus students and over 1,200 distance education students across Queensland.
The role is based on site at Australian Christian College - Moreton, where you will provide direct support to students and staff and report to the Group ICT Manager. It is a full-time position and is expected to begin as soon as possible.
What you will do
- Assist end users by troubleshooting everyday computing issues, resolving them promptly, or directing them to the right support path when needed.
- Support the school’s software, applications, telecommunications, and data services.
- Help maintain the organisation’s ICT systems, devices, and facilities.
- Manage user access and accounts across the school’s online learning platforms.
- Provide broader ICT assistance to the Group ICT Manager across the CEM network.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should be confident using the organisation’s core end-user tools and platforms, including Google Suite, Apple Mac and iOS, Microsoft systems, Canvas, and Jamf. You should also be familiar with the backend environment, such as Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Server, and Aruba LAN/WAN/Wireless networking and telecommunications.
You will need to be practical and solution-oriented, able to juggle several tasks while meeting tight deadlines. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are important, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve strong results. A servant-hearted approach, active Christian faith, and regular involvement in a local church are also required. A valid Working with Children Check must be held and maintained.
Benefits
- A strong opportunity for someone wanting to progress an IT career within the education sector.
- Access to an Employee Assistance Program with complimentary counselling sessions.
- Eligibility for a staff benefits program offering 15% to 50% discounts at leading retail brands.
- Salary packaging and salary sacrificing options.
- Opportunities to grow in faith, practical skills, and professional experience.
- Membership in an authentic faith community that includes regular devotion and prayer.
