Job description
Role overview
Join the hygiene team on the afternoon shift and help ensure the site remains clean, safe, and compliant at all times. This position is central to maintaining hygiene standards across factory equipment and the wider production environment.
What the job involves
You will work alongside colleagues in production, technical, and engineering teams to support day-to-day hygiene performance and keep the operation aligned with both company expectations and customer standards. The role also includes spotting opportunities to improve working practices where practical.
Key duties
- Keep factory equipment and surrounding work areas cleaned to a high standard in line with internal procedures and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with production, technical, and engineering teams to maintain consistent hygiene compliance.
- Make sure high-risk, low-risk, and external areas are all serviced to the required standard.
- Confirm that all equipment sent back into production is safe for food use and compliant with hygiene expectations.
- Top up chemical and consumable dispensers as needed.
- Maintain Clean As You Go standards across all areas throughout the shift.
- Identify practical improvements and help embed them into daily working methods.
- Complete all required department records and paperwork accurately.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will understand cleaning chemicals, their applications, and COSHH requirements. You should also be comfortable using factory cleaning systems, schedules, and procedures, and have a basic grasp of food microbiology. Familiarity with health and safety practices and documentation is important, along with the ability to work well in a team, build strong cross-functional relationships, and stay organised and dependable.
Working pattern
This is a full-time onsite role with a Monday to Friday schedule. The shift is an 8-hour afternoon shift based in Haverhill, Suffolk, United Kingdom.
Pay
The hourly rate is £13.19.
