Job description
Company Overview
Join a purpose-led organisation where your work supports Aotearoa’s social worker regulator and its lead role in workforce planning. The Social Workers Registration Board helps safeguard the public, uphold professional standards, and generate workforce insights at the point where regulation meets government policy.
Working from central Wellington, you’ll be part of a collaborative team with a values-based culture and flexible hybrid arrangements, all grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments and He Arapaki, the organisation’s Māori Development Framework.
Role Overview
This specialist position is an 18-month fixed-term assignment within the Human Resources team, reporting directly to the HR Manager. The role is focused on strengthening the organisation’s HR foundations by driving key initiatives such as introducing and embedding a new HR information system, updating people policies and employment documents, and creating clear frameworks for delegation, capability, and remuneration.
Operating across policy, systems, and practical HR delivery, you will turn best-practice people practices into simple, usable tools and processes that are understood across the business. The work will help improve consistency, lower risk, increase confidence in people management, and support both organisational priorities and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
Key Focus Areas
- Lead the implementation and adoption of a new HRIS.
- Review, refresh, and improve HR policies and employment documentation.
- Develop frameworks for delegation, capability, and remuneration.
- Create practical HR guidance and processes that are easy for teams to follow.
- Support better consistency and risk management in people operations.
- Ensure HR work aligns with organisational strategy, He Arapaki, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities.
Additional Information
This is a fixed-term role for 18 months. The position is based in Wellington and is described as onsite, with mention of flexible hybrid working arrangements. No salary details, vacancies count, or immediate start information were provided.
