Job description
Role Overview
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the everyday operations of the HR department. This role covers a broad range of HR activities, including employee relations, interpretation and application of policies, performance management, and consultation on talent management. In addition, the position may contribute to employee development programs and training efforts.
What You Will Do
- Explain HR policies and procedures to both employees and managers, and provide practical guidance on how they should be applied.
- Review HR data, patterns, and metrics with HR colleagues to help shape solutions, programs, and policy improvements.
- Support leaders with daily coaching on employee relations matters, policy application, and fair, consistent treatment across the workforce.
- Help employees resolve routine HR-related concerns and questions.
- Lead workplace investigations and recommend appropriate next steps to leadership.
- Guide employees and managers through the ADA process.
- Maintain and update job descriptions as needed.
- Partner with HR peers to help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and assist with audits and reporting.
- Contribute to policy revisions and employee handbook updates.
- Support employee engagement activities and initiatives.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, navigating change, and communicating organizational policies clearly and accurately. The person in this role must also help maintain compliance and strengthen employee engagement and satisfaction across the organization.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Solid understanding of HR principles, employment law, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to coach employees and managers through sensitive or complex situations.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, changing environment with limited structure.
- Self-directed work style with the ability to set goals and work independently.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Sound judgment in identifying issues and recommending practical solutions.
- Project management capability.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, HRIS platforms, internet tools, and databases.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of HR experience is required.
- Experience supporting multiple sites is preferred.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
- At least 2 years of HRIS experience is required.
- Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools is highly preferred.
- Must have no sanctions from any governing agency, state body, or third-party payor.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.
Compensation
The annual pay range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000. The stated range may reflect differences in background, experience, and work location, and it also allows room for pay growth within the position.
