Job description

Position overview

This role reports to the store-based Area HR Manager and supports key human resources activities across the store and multiple locations. The coordinator helps with employee relations, hiring and talent development, payroll support, timecard compliance, and upkeep of personnel records.

Key responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Area Human Resources Manager to address employee relations matters and staffing needs.
  • Handle HR reporting tasks and other administrative work connected to policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for questions about employee relations, leave of absence, paid time off, workers’ compensation, and related topics.
  • Support interviews, investigations, disciplinary processes, and day-to-day HR needs at the store level.
  • Coordinate with store managers, HR, training, and payroll teams to keep operations aligned.
  • Train Human Resources Associates on HR processes, procedures, employment law basics, and recruiting practices.
  • Advise the Store Manager on workforce planning.
  • Help recruit for the store by building relationships with schools, government agencies, nonprofit groups, and other external hiring sources.
  • Use recruiting tools and sourcing tactics to attract candidates, including on-site recruiting events, job fairs, and competitive market research.
  • Track hiring activity from offer through onboarding, including forms, orientations, and new-hire start date notifications.
  • Assist with recruitment events such as on-site hiring sessions and external job fairs.
  • Post and refresh open roles on internal and external job boards.
  • Take on additional special projects as assigned by management.
  • Provide support across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience in human resources or a closely related field.
  • Retail experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and HR platforms, especially Workday, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, employment law, recruitment practices, and Equal Employment Opportunity rules and standards.
  • Must be available for a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends.
  • Travel may be needed, up to 10% to 25%.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 to $26.00 per hour. The final offer depends on factors such as experience, education, certifications, relevant skills, expertise, and the location of the role.
