Job description

Role overview

This is an exclusive recruitment assignment for a long-established Irish logistics and supply chain company that is hiring a newly established Human Resources Business Partner. The organisation has more than 30 years of industry experience and is recognised as a market leader with operations in Ireland, the UK, and the Netherlands. It generates turnover of over €35 million and employs more than 100 people. The business is growing steadily and is known for an entrepreneurial, commercially aware, and operations-led culture built around accountability and strong working relationships.

Located in North Dublin, the company is going through a period of major expansion. It promotes an open and accessible workplace and is guided by values including integrity, teamwork, sustainability, and agility. This is a standout opportunity to take on the top HR position in a scaling business and influence the people agenda as part of the senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide HR leadership across Ireland, the UK, and other operating regions.
  • Oversee HR operations, employee relations activity, and legal/compliance matters.
  • Strengthen HR systems, workflows, and management reporting.
  • Assist senior leaders and middle managers with development and capability building.
  • Create succession planning approaches and support wider organisational capability.
  • Design employee engagement initiatives that work well for an operational workforce.
  • Coordinate with external HR and legal advisers when needed.
  • Help shape a people strategy that can scale alongside future business growth.

Candidate profile

The ideal person will be an experienced HR professional with strong hands-on and commercial capability, comfortable in a fast-moving, founder-led environment. Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or a similar operational sector would be useful, though it is not essential.

  • Senior HR generalist or HR leadership background.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and HR operations.
  • Experience working in businesses that are growing or transforming.
  • Confident, practical stakeholder management style.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and influencing ability.
  • Comfortable balancing day-to-day delivery with strategic input.
  • Experience improving processes and HR systems.
  • Resilient, collaborative, and pragmatic approach.

Additional information

  • The role is mainly onsite, particularly during the first year.
  • Working hours include flexible start and finish times.
  • Quarterly travel to the UK is required.
  • Long-term cultural fit is an important priority for the business.

Opportunity

This role offers a rare chance to build and lead the HR function in a growing organisation and have meaningful influence at leadership level.
