Role overview
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will work under the Human Resources Manager and help keep the HR function running smoothly. The role combines day-to-day administration, employee data management, and transactional HR support to ensure the wider business receives accurate and timely output. You will also act as a line manager for Specialists, Coordinators, and Associates within the department.
What you will do
- Oversee and support HR administrative and clerical activities that keep processes moving efficiently.
- Maintain employee information and manage data related to the workforce.
- Provide transactional HR support for manpower-related needs.
- Report to the Human Resources Manager and step in as the point of contact for assigned HR areas when needed.
- Lead, supervise, and monitor Specialists, Coordinators, and Associates in the HR team.
- Ensure HR outputs are accurate, timely, and usable by operations.
- Guide team members through monthly coaching, monitoring, and performance scoring.
- Help design and roll out new HR policies, and update existing ones to stay aligned with labour regulations.
- Handle case management tasks, including support for NTE release, administrative hearings, and NOD processes.
- Deliver orientation sessions for new hires.
- Support HRIS work as a backup, including system maintenance, screen creation, and workflow setup.
- Coordinate and co-facilitate administrative hearings.
- Serve as a professional liaison between employees and management.
- Support HR initiatives, process improvements, and training plans for HR staff development.
- Lead government audit preparation and compliance activities.
- Review and certify benefit claims before escalation for approval.
- Prepare contract adjustments and HR reports for payroll processing.
- Track, process, and monitor AWOL cases.
- Manage offboarding activities and prepare monthly leaver reports.
- Handle visa application, cancellation, and renewal matters.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including covering other HR tasks when required.
Minimum qualifications and experience
You should hold a university degree in business or a related field and bring at least five years of experience in an HR environment. Prior experience supervising or managing people is expected, and exposure to an HR business partnership setup will be considered an advantage. A strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, HR policies, rules, and procedures is important, along with solid administration experience and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Skills and capabilities
This position calls for strong PC skills, hands-on experience with HR systems, excellent written and spoken English, customer service ability, persuasive communication, negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and good computer literacy. You should also be comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
