Role Overview
The company is looking for a well-organized, energetic, and people-oriented Human Resources Assistant & Recruiter to support hiring and broader HR operations. Recruiting and Talent Acquisition
- Take ownership of recruitment for both production and office-based roles.
- Write clear, appealing job advertisements and recruitment outreach to draw in strong candidates.
- Identify talent using job boards, LinkedIn, employee referrals, networking events, and partnerships with community organizations.
- Represent the company at job fairs and develop connections with nearby schools, trade programs, and workforce development groups.
- Handle candidate screening, phone conversations, and first-round interviews.
- Coordinate hiring steps using the ApplicantPro applicant tracking system.
- Keep candidates informed and engaged throughout the hiring process.
- Support hiring practices that comply with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
Onboarding and New Hire Support
- Manage pre-employment tasks such as background screening, I-9 verification, and E-Verify processing.
- Run new hire orientation and guide employees through their first-day onboarding experience.
- Help new team members learn about company tools, training resources, and wellness offerings.
- Enter onboarding information into Paylocity and assist with related HRIS updates.
Employee Engagement and Recognition
- Assist with employee recognition efforts such as birthdays, service anniversaries, and awards.
- Support wellness activities, lunch-and-learn sessions, and employee appreciation events.
- Help organize company-sponsored events and engagement initiatives.
- Contribute to a positive employee experience from recruitment through day-to-day employment.
HR Administration
- Keep employee files and HR records accurate, secure, and confidential.
- Help move HR workflows toward paperless processes.
- Maintain organizational charts and update employee information when needed.
- Coordinate branded clothing and employee merchandise programs.
- Track training requirements and follow up on mandatory training completion.
- Support HR projects and other assigned special initiatives.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, including status changes, wage adjustments, deductions, leave tracking, and payroll record maintenance.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 1 year of administrative experience is required.
- Experience in recruiting, onboarding, or human resources is preferred.
- Prior recruiting experience in manufacturing is considered an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is needed.
- Excellent speaking and writing skills are essential.
- Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills are important.
- High accuracy and close attention to detail are required.
- The ability to protect confidential information and handle sensitive matters professionally is necessary.
- A self-driven, service-minded attitude with a positive approach is preferred.
