The Opportunity

Veolia is hiring a Heavy Rigid Driver to join a supportive and close-knit team in Paget 4740. The role involves operating different vehicle types, including hook-lift, front-lift, and liquid waste trucks, while supporting commercial waste collection across the region.

This is a full-time permanent position with Monday to Friday hours, an early start, and overtime available. Weekend roster availability is also required.

What You'll Do

  • Work on secure, long-term contracts handling the collection of waste and recyclables.
  • Transport multiple waste streams to the correct disposal locations.
  • Deliver strong service to both internal teams and external customers.
  • Build the capability to operate a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment.

What You'll Need

  • A current HR licence is essential.
  • Sound knowledge of Mackay and nearby suburbs is preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to learn how to use a range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail when completing paperwork.
  • A safety-first attitude at all times.
  • A consistent focus on high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to begin early and work on weekend rostered shifts.

Pre-Employment Requirements

The successful candidate must be willing to complete a National Police Clearance and a medical assessment relevant to the role.
