Role overview
As a Regional People Business Partner, you will support several North America functions by partnering with HRBP peers and functional leaders on strategic talent initiatives. The role requires balancing operational execution with strategic planning while helping ensure consistency between regional and global people practices. A high level of confidentiality and discretion is essential. This position reports to the Director, People, Corporate Functions.
Key responsibilities
- Work with People leadership to understand business goals and turn them into practical people strategies and insights.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, talent management, and employee development.
- Partner with employee relations teams to establish effective ER practices for the employee population.
- Handle and help resolve employee relations matters within the People organization.
- Review complaints or concerns and guide teams to ensure policies are applied fairly and consistently.
- Identify critical talent within the People function and shape plans for hiring, development, and retention.
- Support career development planning for employees across the People team.
- Help design and roll out performance management processes for the function.
- Advise on goal setting, performance reviews, and career growth pathways.
- Assist in building and communicating people policies, with attention to legal and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current on market trends and best practices, and recommend policy or process updates when needed.
- Assess training needs and work with leaders to create and implement learning programs.
- Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the People organization.
- Use people analytics to measure program effectiveness and surface trends and key metrics.
- Prepare regular reports for People leadership.
- Support leaders and PLT in organizational change efforts and provide guidance on communication and change-management approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related area.
- At least 7 years of progressive people/HR experience, especially in business partnering.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to think strategically while also executing at a tactical level.
- Comfort using relevant HR/People technology platforms.
- Experience with change management and adaptability in a fast-moving people environment.
Location and working model
This is a hybrid position with onsite presence expected three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday, at the San Mateo, CA headquarters.
Compensation
The annual base pay for this role is between $156,060 and $192,780. The position is also eligible for a target bonus. Final compensation depends on factors such as location, experience, job-related skills, and level.
