Role summary

ReWorks Solutions is hiring a proactive and highly organized HR Assistant / HR Specialist to support the daily work of the HR team. This fully remote position is aligned to U.S. working hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, and compensation is paid in South African Rands (ZAR).

What the role involves

  • Provide broad administrative support across HR operations and related workflows.
  • Handle payroll questions, investigate mismatches, and help resolve payment issues.
  • Run and monitor background screening tasks and make sure the required paperwork is complete.
  • Support employee onboarding as well as offboarding activities.
  • Manage cancellations, schedule adjustments, and employee record updates in internal systems.
  • Respond to employee queries about HR matters and explain company policies and procedures.
  • Keep employee files accurate, organized, and aligned with company standards.
  • Assist with HR initiatives and improvement projects that enhance processes and the employee experience.
  • Help prepare reports, enter data, and maintain HR documentation.
  • Work with managers and other teams to meet HR needs across the business.
  • Protect sensitive information and maintain a professional, discreet approach at all times.

Requirements

  • Background in HR administration, HR coordination, or a similar support-focused HR position.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle administration.
  • Prior experience assisting with payroll operations and resolving payroll concerns.
  • Ability to manage several priorities and stay effective in a busy, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working independently and taking initiative on HR tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems.
  • Professional, confident manner when dealing with employee issues.
  • Preferred exposure includes background checks and employment verification work.
  • Prior involvement in HR projects or process improvement work is an added advantage.
  • Marketing experience or exposure to marketing-related tasks is considered a plus.
  • Experience in a growing or multi-location company is beneficial.

Additional information

This is a full-time remote position with work scheduled around U.S. hours. The role includes the benefit of working from home.
