About the Company
SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences is a luxury 5-star lifestyle hotel in Dubai, operating under Ennismore within the Accor group. The property features 946 units in total, including 254 individually designed hotel rooms, 321 hotel apartments, and 371 branded residences across 75 floors. It is a prominent landmark in Downtown District and was designed by award-winning architect and interior designer Paul Bishop.
Role Overview
As a Housekeeping Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms and related areas to the hotel’s cleanliness and hygiene standards while delivering courteous, efficient service to guests.
Key Duties
- Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, and adjoining areas in line with the hotel’s hygiene and presentation standards.
- Refresh rooms daily with clean linen, remove creases, dust furniture, thoroughly clean bathrooms, restock guest amenities and stationery, and vacuum all areas.
- Document serviced rooms on the worksheet and report any rooms that could not be cleaned.
- Ensure VIP gifts are replenished each day.
- Support Floor Supervisors by watering and replacing flowers and plants in guest rooms as needed.
- Remove rubbish and soiled linen in the correct manner.
- Use and store all materials properly, keep equipment in working condition, and escalate faults without delay.
- Build a polite and respectful rapport with guests, respond to questions and requests, and resolve complaints quickly with proper follow-up and escalation where needed.
- Follow key control procedures and remain accountable for assigned keys.
- Submit lost property to the Director of Housekeeping or the Manager on duty immediately and follow hotel policies throughout.
- Support stocktaking activities when required.
- Assist with special cleaning assignments as needed.
- Handle hotel linen according to housekeeping standards.
- Manage guest belongings carefully and correctly at all times.
- Report damage to bedding, curtains, blinds, and other soft furnishings to the Floor Supervisor.
- Inform the Floor Supervisor about rooms that are not to be serviced, including Do Not Disturb or double-locked rooms.
- Report shortages in linen, supplies, or equipment to the Floor Supervisor.
- Carry out any additional tasks, special projects, or reasonable requests from department leadership or hotel management.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have prior housekeeping experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel, preferably within an upscale or lifestyle brand. Experience of one to two years in a guest-facing role is preferred. The role requires the ability to use computers and/or point-of-sale systems for work-related information, along with a warm, friendly, and professional manner. Strong multitasking ability, attention to detail, clear English communication skills, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team are important.
