About the Role
CHSGa is hiring for a full-time day-shift Housekeeping Aide at Scott Health & Rehab in Adrian, GA. This opportunity is with a nonprofit, mission-focused care organization where employees are recognized for the important work they do and supported by a team-oriented leadership culture.
What You’ll Do
- Keep tile flooring clean by sweeping, damp mopping, and wet mopping, and occasionally using spray buffing, stripping, or waxing methods as directed by center procedures and wet-floor safety practices.
- Flag any carpeted sections that need deep cleaning or spot treatment for supervisor review.
- Vacuum carpeted spaces as needed.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces in patient rooms, including furniture, bed frames, and windowsills, while following center safety procedures.
- Remove trash, clean waste bins inside and out, and replace liners.
- Clean sinks, fixtures, and toilets in bathrooms in line with facility procedures.
- Wash mirrors, glass, pictures, and windows.
- Clean under and behind furniture, moving items as required by center procedures.
- Turn mattresses after they have been cleaned.
- Clean dining areas after breakfast and lunch, including wiping tables and sweeping and mopping floors.
- Replace soiled privacy curtains and outside window drapes when needed, including removing and rehanging them with a ladder.
- Sweep porches and walkways outdoors and pick up litter.
- Work according to assigned cleaning schedules.
- Follow infection-control standards and use isolation precautions such as gowns, gloves, and special cleaning methods when required.
- Respect patient rights and treat patients and their belongings with dignity throughout room cleaning.
- Keep cleaning chemicals secure and follow all MSDS precautions for the products used.
- Help maintain housekeeping tools, supplies, and storage areas.
- Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift and inspect it before use for safe operation.
- Report equipment repair needs to the Maintenance Department.
- Restock bathroom supplies such as soap, lotion, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
- Prevent and remove wax or dirt buildup around corners, baseboards, and doorways.
- Support the organization’s image through courteous communication and servant-minded teamwork.
- Take part in committees, workgroups, projects, and other collaborative efforts as assigned.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the success of the organization.

Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance directions, and procedure manuals.
- Capability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or associates when needed.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Sound reasoning ability to follow instructions and handle routine problems in standard situations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- No supervisory responsibility in this role.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent walking, regular use of the hands and arms for handling and reaching, and the ability to sit, talk, or hear as part of the job. Standing is required occasionally. Close and distant vision, along with the ability to adjust focus, are necessary.
