Role overview

Hilton is looking for a Hostess who speaks Chinese and can help create a warm, memorable dining experience for hotel guests in Doha. In this role, you will be the first point of contact at the restaurant, combining friendly service, strong organisation, and careful attention to guest preferences.

The position is centered on delivering efficient and welcoming food and beverage service while maintaining high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and guest care.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome guests with a positive, attentive approach and look for small ways to make their dining experience feel special.
  • Learn the menu, promotions, and daily specials thoroughly so you can answer guest questions confidently.
  • Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system, and ensure completed orders are delivered quickly and accurately.
  • Keep the service area stocked, tidy, and well arranged throughout service.
  • Follow health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness rules to protect both guests and team members.
  • Greet arriving guests, check reservations and special requests, present seating options, and escort them to the table.
  • Update the reservation system daily and coordinate information between shifts and management.
  • Ensure the dining room setup matches the reservation plan, table layout, and seating arrangements.
  • Record reservations and special-function arrangements accurately and manage related communication.
  • Handle incoming calls politely, take clear messages when needed, and route them to the correct person without delay.
  • Respond to guest questions and concerns in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Use proper reporting procedures when issues arise.
  • Follow Hilton grooming and hygiene standards, including uniform, cleanliness, and personal presentation.
  • Observe hotel security rules, fire safety requirements, and all applicable health and safety laws.
  • Carry out opening and closing duties and support side work such as cleaning, stocking, and folding napkins.

Requirements

  • Previous experience serving guests in a fast-paced hospitality or restaurant setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of menu items, beverages, and service flow.
  • Comfort with reservation handling, seating coordination, and basic front-of-house administration.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to assist guests courteously and promptly.
  • Ability to remain organised, efficient, and detail-focused during busy service periods.
  • Understanding of food hygiene, safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
  • Professional grooming, neat appearance, and a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese, as required for the role.
