What the role involves
You will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience. The position includes lesson planning, assessment, and contributing to the broader life of the school.
Key duties
- Deliver engaging History lessons that help students make strong progress.
- Plan lessons and assess student work in line with curriculum requirements.
- Build and maintain a productive, positive classroom atmosphere.
- Use feedback and targeted intervention to improve student outcomes.
- Work closely with the Humanities department and wider school community.
Working pattern
This is a full-time role with a long-term contract. The working day runs from 08:15 to 16:00, Monday through Friday.
Salary and contract details
Pay will be in line with the MPS/UPS scale. The position is based in Croydon and begins in September.
Candidate requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of History as a subject.
- Previous experience teaching across KS3 and KS4.
- Good communication abilities and strong organisational skills.
- A current DBS certificate, or a willingness to obtain one.
