Role overview

Vet et Nous is looking for a seasoned Head of Operations to steer core operational activity at an executive level. This is a senior leadership position focused on building effective operating models, strengthening business performance, improving workflows, and keeping the organization running with a high level of efficiency and consistency.

Core responsibilities

  • Create and roll out operating plans that support the company’s mission, targets, and expansion strategy.
  • Direct daily business operations to maintain productivity, efficiency, and strong service delivery.
  • Build, refine, and standardize workflows, procedures, and performance benchmarks.
  • Track operational KPIs and metrics, then turn the findings into practical recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Lead programs that improve performance, simplify processes, automate work, and reduce operating costs.
  • Work closely with department heads to keep operational priorities aligned with business goals and client expectations.
  • Own workforce planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and operational forecasting.
  • Spot operational risks early and put controls in place to reduce disruption and protect continuity.
  • Guide change initiatives, organizational transformation efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulations, quality requirements, and operational controls.
  • Develop managers and operational staff, encouraging accountability, ownership, and strong performance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, business expansion, and evaluation of new opportunities.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, operational reviews, and business performance updates for leadership and stakeholders.

What the role requires

  • Background in operations management, business management, supply chain, logistics, or a similar leadership track.
  • Strong grasp of operational planning, process improvement, and performance management at an organizational level.
  • Experience supervising cross-functional teams and handling large operational functions.
  • Well-developed analytical thinking, issue resolution, and sound judgment.
  • Confident leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, staffing plans, and performance tracking.
  • Comfort using business systems, ERP software, analytics tools, and operational reporting platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, evolving, and growth-focused environment.
  • Strong commercial understanding and strategic business thinking.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred; an MBA or other relevant leadership qualification is a plus.
