Role Overview

EBTH is looking for a Head of Operations to lead, plan, and manage the operations and processing functions in Cincinnati. This is a high-impact role that requires strong leadership, clear strategy, and effective resource management. The environment is fast paced and continuously evolving, and the position carries significant responsibility while also being part of a collaborative and energetic team.

Core Operational Ownership

• Lead processing and production activities to improve high-volume cataloging, photography, and authentication work.
• Manage merchandising and inventory scheduling to increase value, speed up inventory movement, and support business-line targets.
• Provide oversight for the Jewelry & Watches division, with emphasis on authentication accuracy, inventory control, and curated assortment quality.
• Protect company assets, staff wellbeing, and high-value inventory through security practices, risk controls, and facility compliance.

Strategic Leadership Responsibilities

• Set the long-range operational direction and translate it into a practical roadmap that supports growth, efficiency, and EBTH’s quality-and-trust commitment.
• Shape team structure so processing and operations groups can work at high capacity with scalable workflows and clear ownership.
• Evaluate, recommend, and roll out process improvements, modern tools, and operational policies that strengthen resource use and asset protection.
• Lead, coach, and develop management-level employees while giving constructive feedback and building stronger leadership capability across the team.

Cross-Functional and Financial Accountability

• Work closely with Sales to ensure operational capacity matches intake forecasts and customer expectations.
• Own and manage budgets, control labor spending, and approve estimates and cost-control reporting for key initiatives.
• Partner with Marketing and Technology teams to deploy internal and external solutions that improve the seller and buyer experience.

Analytics, Reporting, and Risk Oversight

• Use Looker, Salesforce, and operational data to monitor efficiency trends and item economics.
• Prepare and present regular performance updates and operational KPI reporting to executive leadership.
• Oversee risk management efforts, including safety compliance, facility procedures, credit review support, and customer service escalation handling.

Required Experience and Skills

• Bring 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, supply chain, or marketplace management, ideally in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce setting.
• Have at least 5 years of experience in upper-level or executive management.
• Demonstrate strong relationship-building ability and a track record of working effectively with Sales, Technology, Finance, and executive teams.
• Be highly analytical and able to use data to identify and solve complex operational bottlenecks before they affect revenue.
• Communicate clearly, operate well in a dynamic culture, and lead with transparency, accountability, and a sense of humor.
• Show excellent organization, strong attention to detail, and comfort using Google Suite, Salesforce, Looker, or similar systems.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field is required. An MBA is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• This role includes extended periods of desk work and computer use.
• At times, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.

Location and Eligibility

This is an onsite position in Cincinnati, Ohio. Relocation assistance is not offered, so only candidates already based in the Greater Cincinnati area will be considered. Applicants must also be legally authorized to work in the United States, as sponsorship is not available.
