Role Overview

This is a key leadership position with broad influence across the group. The Head of Operations will strengthen operational performance, improve organisational effectiveness and help ensure the business executes with discipline while scaling nationally. Working closely with the Managing Director, Executive Team and senior functional leaders, this role will connect strategy to day-to-day delivery, align teams and systems, and improve outcomes for clients, partners and employees.

The ideal candidate will be a commercially strong and strategic operator who is comfortable working across multiple business units, solving complex issues, building structure and driving accountability. The role suits someone who can think at a high level while also diving into detail when required.

Business Performance and Strategic Delivery

  • Translate strategic priorities into action across the group and ensure key initiatives are delivered.
  • Work in close partnership with the Executive Team to execute business goals and organisational priorities.
  • Collaborate with leaders in sales, marketing, finance, accounting and growth systems to improve performance, remove blockers and keep the group aligned.
  • Create and maintain scorecards, dashboards and reporting structures for the business.
  • Build and track KPIs and OKRs across business units.
  • Provide visibility on revenue, pipeline, site starts, productivity and overall operating performance.
  • Support quarterly planning cycles and reinforce accountability for agreed priorities.
  • Deliver analysis and recommendations that support profitable growth and better decision making.

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement

  • Own and refine the business operating rhythm.
  • Design scalable systems, workflows and operating models that support growth and national expansion.
  • Identify process friction and deliver practical improvements with strong business impact.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a culture of operational excellence.
  • Drive consistency, accountability and strong execution across all business units.
  • Lead cross-functional work and support alignment across current and future business lines.

Financial Operations and Commercial Support

  • Work with Finance and the Company Accountant to improve visibility and business performance.
  • Support forecasting for pipeline, revenue, site starts, margins and cashflow.
  • Monitor the main drivers of performance and identify opportunities to lift efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist with capacity planning, resourcing and operational budgeting.
  • Prepare reporting and analysis that enable stronger commercial decisions.

Systems, Transformation and Innovation

  • Partner with the Head of AI & Growth Systems to improve automation, workflows and capability.
  • Define business requirements and prioritise initiatives that improve scalability and performance.
  • Encourage adoption of systems, reporting tools and process enhancements across the group.
  • Use technology and innovation to improve efficiency, visibility and decision making.

Governance and Risk

  • Maintain the group’s operational governance frameworks.
  • Manage contractor agreements, supplier agreements and other key business contracts.
  • Keep policies, procedures and documentation current and practical.
  • Identify, assess and reduce operational risks.
  • Strengthen discipline and accountability across the organisation.

Building Operations and Customer Delivery

  • Oversee processes that support high volumes of residential build contracts and transactions.
  • Ensure workflows support contract progression, site starts and customer delivery.
  • Improve processes and reporting across the full customer journey.
  • Partner with stakeholders to protect commercial outcomes while delivering a strong customer experience.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, coach and grow the operations team.
  • Build a high-performance culture that is accountable and solutions-focused.
  • Develop team capability and scalable structures as the business expands.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the Executive Team and help drive alignment, execution and accountability.
  • Influence leaders across the group to ensure priorities are understood and delivered.
  • Hold teams and individuals to clear standards, commitments and outcomes.

  • Experience leading operations in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to interpret business drivers, shape decisions and turn strategy into measurable results.
  • Solid capability in performance reporting, forecasting, planning and operational management.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in residential building, property, development or a related field.
  • Understanding of residential construction workflows and high-volume contract environments.
  • Exposure to build contracts, variations, site starts and end-to-end customer delivery.
  • Experience implementing systems, process improvements and business reporting frameworks.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial, fast-moving and rapidly scaling businesses.
