Job description
About Firstwork
Firstwork is creating AI-first workforce operations software for businesses that recruit, onboard, verify, train, and activate large frontline teams. Its AI agents take over much of the operational workload that normally sits with recruiters, coordinators, shared services groups, and BPOs, helping move workers from applicant to productive status up to 90% faster while reducing manual effort, improving compliance, and delivering a better worker experience.
The company’s mission is to remove friction from labor markets. It has expanded revenue by more than 10x over the last six months, is live in the US, UK, Europe, and APAC, and handles hundreds of thousands of worker journeys every month. It is supported by Gradient, Google’s AI fund, Y Combinator, and other major investors.
Role Overview
Firstwork is looking for its first Head of Marketing. This is a founding marketing leadership role, not a standard SaaS marketing position. The company is seeking someone who is AI-native, has strong judgment and creative taste, and can translate product momentum, customer results, and founder insight into real market pull.
The right person will help make Firstwork hard to ignore for workforce operators, enterprise leaders, private equity investors, strategic partners, and the wider AI community. Working closely with the founders, you will help shape the category around AI-native workforce operations and build the marketing function from scratch.
What You Will Lead
You will own the company’s positioning, narrative, brand, product marketing, founder-led content, customer stories, executive events, vertical campaigns, ecosystem partnerships, and AI-driven demand generation.
Your job will be to turn deployments, data, workflows, and customer outcomes into strong evidence that the future of workforce operations is already here.
You are expected to build the early marketing team, but you should be able to create impact before having significant resources. The ideal candidate can write well, launch quickly, run experiments, use AI extensively, grow an audience, build executive trust, and generate pipeline without relying on a large team or perfect systems.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
You bring exceptional taste and can write in a clear, concise, and original way. You know how to present complex technology as something inevitable. You use AI tools effectively as a real lever for speed and output, not as a gimmick.
You think commercially and understand that good marketing should contribute to revenue, not only brand awareness. You are comfortable engaging with founders, executives, and operators. You work quickly without becoming careless, and you hold strong views while staying open to new information.
You may already be a Head of Marketing, Director of Marketing, founding marketer, product marketer, ex-founder, operator, or GTM leader. The company values trajectory, quality of output, and conviction more than seniority alone.
Preferred Background
Experience in enterprise software, vertical SaaS, AI, workforce technology, staffing, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, retail, or private equity would be especially useful.
Why Join
Firstwork is at a stage where marketing can create meaningful compounding returns. The product is working, demand is building, customer outcomes are real, and the category is taking shape. This is an opportunity to have outsized leverage and help build a defining AI company rather than inherit an already polished machine.
The role is remote-first, with strong preference for US Eastern Time. The company offers significant cash and equity upside for the right person.
Additional Information
This position is designed for someone who wants to shape the company’s market identity from the ground up and contribute directly to building a category-defining AI business.
