Role overview
G4S Zambia is seeking a senior HR leader to oversee people strategy for its Lusaka operation. The role is based in Lusaka, Zambia, within an organization of more than 5,000 employees, and reports to the Managing Director for Zambia as well as the Regional HR Director.

What the role involves
The Head of HR will serve as the most senior human resources professional in the business unit. The position works closely with the Managing Director to shape and execute a workforce strategy that supports business objectives, maintains legal and group compliance, and builds a strong performance-driven culture.
Key responsibilities
- Align HR priorities with financial and operational plans, while directing and developing the local HR team.
- Serve as a visible ambassador of the company’s values, track workplace culture, and handle ethical concerns or whistleblowing cases with a high level of integrity.
- Lead workforce planning, large-scale recruitment for frontline roles, and executive-level screening to meet customer demands.
- Create and strengthen onboarding, performance management, and succession planning processes to support long-term capability building.
- Improve employee engagement, reduce attrition, and guide constructive union and pay negotiations in the Zambian market.
- Work with health and safety specialists to manage operational risks, including firearms and vehicle-related safety, and help reduce incidents.
- Ensure roles are properly graded and that pay and benefits remain competitive within the local market.
