Job description
Role overview
This is a newly created leadership opportunity within a large services group operating across the UK and Ireland. The business is looking to rebuild its reporting function so it becomes centralized, dependable, and genuinely useful for decision-making. The role sits at a strategic level and will help shape reporting governance as the organization continues its Microsoft Fabric cloud data platform rollout.
What you will lead
- Set the direction for enterprise reporting, along with the standards used across the organization, excluding finance.
- Shift reporting away from a fragmented, reactive model toward a consistent, trusted, and insight-driven approach, with future scope to support predictive and AI-enabled analysis.
- Establish shared KPI frameworks, data definitions, and governance practices, while addressing existing gaps in data access and security.
- Act as the primary owner for reporting demand intake, triage, and prioritization.
- Create and manage a reporting and analytics team from the ground up, as no dedicated team is in place today.
- Deliver insights and recommendations directly to senior leaders and executive forums.
What the business is looking for
- Proven experience at Head of, senior leadership, or equivalent level in reporting, BI, analytics, or performance management.
- A strong history of leading enterprise reporting strategy and introducing standardization in a complex, large-scale environment.
- Credibility and influence at C-suite and board level, with evidence of helping shape business decisions.
- Exposure to Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and broader data lake or platform transformation initiatives.
- A fresh perspective and the confidence to challenge existing ways of working.
