Role Overview
We are hiring a Head of Community for a full-time hybrid position in Lagos. This role sits at the center of the product, since the platform brings together tipsters, copy-betting, and PvP communities that are often scattered across different spaces. The person in this position will be responsible for the overall community strategy, expansion, and wellbeing across in-app social features as well as external channels. The goal is to convert casual users into active, loyal participants while also building and managing a community team and representing user interests internally. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands online communities and can balance growth, engagement, and responsible gaming.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the full community strategy across in-app social tools, tipster groups, and external platforms such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, X, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Increase community participation and activity while supporting retention, loyalty, and organic referral growth.
- Recruit, guide, and grow a team of community managers and moderators.
- Set community performance measures and monitor engagement, sentiment, growth, and retention.
- Create and roll out community initiatives such as tipster onboarding, ambassador programmes, live events, competitions, and rewards.
- Develop and uphold moderation rules and community standards that keep users safe and support responsible gaming.
- Represent the community internally by sharing user feedback with product, marketing, and leadership teams.
- Work closely with product and marketing to introduce features and campaigns that strengthen engagement.
- Oversee relationships with influencers and tipsters who support the social experience.
Candidate Profile
- At least 6 years of experience in community management, social media, or growth, including hands-on team leadership.
- Proven ability to build and expand an online community to significant scale.
- Strong familiarity with Nigerian social platforms and online behaviour, particularly in sports and betting contexts.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including hiring, coaching, and managing people.
- A data-led mindset for improving community growth, engagement, and retention.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to define and maintain brand voice and tone.
- Strong intuition for what helps communities succeed, along with a clear commitment to responsible gaming.
Preferred Experience
- Background in sports betting, gaming, fintech, or another consumer product with high engagement.
- Exposure to copy-betting, tipster-led, or creator-led community models.
- Experience using community and social platforms such as Discord, Telegram bots, social listening tools, or CRM systems.
- An existing network within the Nigerian sports, betting, or creator ecosystem.
