Role overview

An opportunity is available for a customer-focused Receptionist / Guest Service Agent to assist the Front Office, Sales, and Banqueting functions at Alamanda Palm Cove Hotel in Palm Cove, Queensland. This is a casual position in a scenic beachfront setting, suited to someone who enjoys service work, guest interaction, and a fast-moving hospitality environment.

What you will do

  • Support a memorable guest journey from reservation enquiry through to arrival, stay, and departure.
  • Act as a positive representative of the hotel and its boutique brand.
  • Interact with guests throughout their visit to enhance the overall experience.
  • Manage check-in and check-out activity using the hotel property management system.
  • Handle reservation queries, suggest suitable options, and upsell rooms where availability allows.
  • Work closely with other departments to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Answer, route, and manage incoming internal and external phone calls.
  • Keep up to date with room rates, packages, and offers.
  • Follow through on guest questions, requests, and complaints.
  • Provide administrative assistance to operational teams when needed.

  • Comfortable using computers and handling administrative tasks.

  • Previous front office or reservations experience is preferred, though not essential.
  • Experience in a similar position is welcome, but attitude and service mindset matter most.
  • Confidence in solving problems, taking ownership of work, and supporting guests effectively.
  • A sharp eye for detail and strong interpersonal ability.
  • Ability to stay effective under pressure in a busy, varied environment and work well with others.
  • A positive, proactive, can-do approach.
