Role overview
This position sits within Rooms and Guest Services Operations at a Marriott property in Doha, Qatar. The role is focused on supervising front-desk and guest experience activities in the Executive Lounge area, with a strong emphasis on service quality, guest satisfaction, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Core duties
You will oversee guest arrivals and departures, handle check-in and check-out processes, and make sure all guest details, payments, and room assignments are correctly managed. The job also includes maintaining accurate folios, applying the correct rates and billing adjustments, processing all payment methods, and completing cashier closing tasks and daily reports.
In addition, you will support guests by sharing property information, giving directions, responding to requests, and coordinating with other team members to resolve needs promptly. You will also be expected to keep banking cash secure at the start and end of the shift, manage authorizations, follow accounting procedures, and inform security about any reported theft incidents.
Leadership and team support
The role requires assisting managers with coaching, training, evaluating, and motivating employees. You will be expected to model the right standards, support the team in reaching shared goals, maintain positive working relationships, and handle employee concerns in line with the open-door and fair-treatment process.
Professional standards
Compliance, confidentiality, safety, and brand standards are important parts of the job. You must present a professional appearance, protect company assets, follow company policies, complete safety training and certifications, and keep sensitive information confidential. Clear communication, accurate written work, proper phone etiquette, and consistent service standards are also required.
Physical and systems requirements
This role involves regular use of computers and POS systems, and it may require standing, sitting, or walking for long periods. You should also be able to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance and perform other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with at least 1 year of related work experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
