Kombo provides a single API layer for HR systems. Rather than connecting separately to numerous ATS, HRIS, and payroll tools, customers integrate once and gain access to more than 250 platforms. The product handles schema differences, authentication variations, and API-specific complexity behind the scenes.
Following participation in Y Combinator in 2022, the company has reached over $10M in annual recurring revenue, serves hundreds of customers, processes data at a scale comparable to 20% of Germany’s workforce, secured more than $30M in funding from Y Combinator, 468 Capital, Volition, and others, and expanded to 65+ employees across Berlin and New York City.
Why this opportunity stands out
The business is planning to double both revenue and team size this year, with 36 new hires planned and around half of them in go-to-market functions as the company moves toward 100+ employees across Berlin and NYC.
In this position, you will own the full hiring lifecycle for GTM roles and help define how candidates experience Kombo from the first outreach message through to a signed offer. A large portion of the hiring will support the New York office, which you will drive from Berlin while working closely with the founding team on key early US hires. Managing a US talent pipeline across a six-hour time difference is both the toughest and most rewarding part of the role.
Because each hire has a visible impact on the company, the team takes recruiting seriously: interviewers prepare thoroughly, feedback is thoughtful, and the bar is high.
Kombo operates like a technology company in every part of the business, including talent. The team uses modern tools and gives the recruiting function room to experiment with automation, sourcing tools, Ashby, and new workflows. Employer branding, internal processes, and the hiring stack will be built collaboratively.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end hiring for GTM roles across Berlin and New York, including sourcing, screening, process design, scheduling, and offer closure.
- Work closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, review hiring outcomes, advise on recruiting best practices and market trends, and maintain a strong hiring bar.
- Use data to improve the recruiting funnel, candidate experience, evaluation quality, and conversion rates.
- Strengthen employer branding for GTM talent through content, LinkedIn visibility, and memorable candidate touchpoints.
- Oversee recruiting operations and tooling, including Ashby cleanliness, service-level expectations, reporting, and process improvements.
What we’re looking for
- 2 to 4 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a focus on GTM or commercial hiring; prior New York hiring exposure is a strong advantage.
- Proven ownership of the complete recruiting process and a track record of acting as a true partner to hiring managers.
- A data-oriented, problem-solving approach; when a search is stuck, you reassess the issue, align again with the hiring manager, and adjust the strategy.
- Comfort discussing technical GTM roles, understanding what the company’s go-to-market hires do, assessing technical capability at a basic level, and representing Kombo effectively.
- Strong sourcing instincts, including the ability to uncover overlooked candidates and craft outreach that gets responses.
Nice to have
Experience using the company’s preferred sourcing approach and tools, including Claude-based sourcing, Juicebox, GitHub, and Boolean search methods.
Logistics
The role is based in Berlin Mitte near Rosenthaler Platz and requires five days per week onsite. The working environment is English-speaking, and German is not required. You will collaborate with the Founding Recruiter and GTM leadership. Compensation includes competitive cash plus real stock options rather than VSOP.
