Job description
About the role
Cambrian Plastics Ltd is hiring a full-time, on-site Growth & Customer Experience Coordinator in Henderson, West Auckland. The company manufactures and distributes acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, and related plastic products for trade and retail customers across New Zealand. This position is designed to strengthen the company’s digital presence while also improving day-to-day customer interactions.
You will take ownership of the business’s online marketing across three websites, Google Ads, Trade Me, social media, and email outreach, while also acting as the first point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in person. The role suits someone who is comfortable using AI tools as part of their regular workflow and who enjoys working in a lean, hands-on manufacturing environment.
What you will do
- Manage three websites, including content updates, SEO, structure, and conversion improvements.
- Plan, run, optimise, and report on Google Ads across all web properties.
- Oversee the Trade Me store, including listings, accuracy, and sales performance.
- Handle social media activity across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram through posting, engagement, and audience growth.
- Create and support email marketing campaigns for existing customers and prospects.
- Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms every day for content creation, research, and campaign planning.
- Serve as the first contact for customers through phone, email, and walk-in enquiries, setting a high standard for customer experience.
- Track digital performance, identify what is working or underperforming, and recommend adjustments based on results.
What the business is looking for
The employer is not focused on a specific qualification or a fixed number of years of experience. Instead, they want evidence that you can do the work and deliver results.
You should be confident managing digital marketing activities, genuinely comfortable using AI tools regularly, and capable of handling customer interactions in a warm, reliable, and professional way. The company values independence, initiative, commercial awareness, and curiosity about manufacturing and materials.
Team and working environment
You will report to the Office Manager and work with a small team of 12 people. The business describes itself as lean and direct, with no unnecessary layers between your work and its results. You will receive a proper induction, product training, and budget support for the tools needed to do the job well.
How to apply
Applicants are asked to send a CV and a short note that answers one specific question: describe a particular time when you used an AI tool to produce a better or faster result in your work. No cover letter is needed. Direct applicants only; recruitment agencies are not being considered.
Additional information
Location: Henderson, Auckland, about 5 minutes from Unitec. The role is full-time and permanent. Free on-site parking is provided, and an AI tools budget is available. The position is described as a real ownership role with direct exposure to business leadership and a clear view of how your work affects outcomes. The salary is competitive and will be aligned with experience. Applications will close once the right person is found.
