Job description

Position Summary

The Group Chief Executive Officer will provide overall strategic direction, governance leadership, and executive oversight for the holding company and its subsidiaries across multiple industries. This role is accountable for shaping the group’s long-term direction, strengthening operational performance, improving financial results, and supporting sustainable growth in line with shareholder priorities and corporate governance standards.

The position also involves coordinating performance across all businesses in the portfolio, creating synergy between entities, reducing exposure to risk, and building a strong, high-performing organization focused on long-term value creation.

Strategic Leadership

  • Set the group’s long-range vision, mission, and strategic priorities, and ensure they are translated into execution.
  • Guide growth planning, including diversification, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansion into new markets.
  • Identify attractive business and investment opportunities that can increase shareholder value.
  • Make sure each subsidiary’s direction remains aligned with the broader group strategy.

Corporate Governance and Board Engagement

  • Act as the main connection point between the Board of Directors and executive management.
  • Ensure observance of all relevant laws, regulations, and governance standards.
  • Provide the Board with timely performance updates, risk insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • See that Board decisions and strategic instructions are implemented across the group.

Group Performance Management

  • Create and track group-wide KPIs and performance goals.
  • Assess subsidiary results against approved plans and budgets.
  • Improve efficiency and profitability across the entire portfolio.
  • Hold subsidiary leadership teams accountable for delivery and excellence.

Financial Leadership

  • Direct the group’s financial strategy, budgeting approach, capital deployment, and investment decisions.
  • Drive performance toward revenue, profitability, cash flow, and ROI targets.
  • Review financial outcomes and ensure resources are used effectively across businesses.
  • Authorize significant expenses, investments, acquisitions, and capital projects within delegated limits.

Portfolio and Subsidiary Oversight

  • Provide strategic supervision of the full portfolio to the Board of Directors.
  • Encourage collaboration and coordination between group companies.
  • Find opportunities for shared services, operational synergies, and cost efficiencies.
  • Track business risks and ensure corrective measures are taken promptly.

Organizational Leadership and Human Capital

  • Assemble and sustain a strong executive leadership team.
  • Promote a culture built on accountability, innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee succession planning and leadership development across the organization.
  • Support talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives.

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Develop and maintain a company-wide risk management framework.
  • Ensure every entity complies with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Protect the group’s assets, reputation, and business continuity.
  • Monitor and address strategic, operational, financial, and reputational risks.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with shareholders, investors, regulators, financial institutions, strategic partners, and major customers.
  • Represent the group in external discussions, negotiations, events, conferences, and industry forums.
  • Strengthen the organization’s reputation and market standing.

Business Development and Investments

  • Lead the assessment and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
  • Evaluate emerging markets and industry trends to support strategic decisions.
  • Oversee integration of newly acquired businesses into the group structure.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications in corporate governance, finance, or leadership are considered an advantage.

Applicants should bring 15 to 20 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 10 years in senior executive roles such as CEO, Managing Director, Group CEO, or Executive Director. Experience in managing diversified or multi-company business groups is essential, along with a strong track record in strategic planning, investments, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.
