Job description
Role overview
King’s Christian College is looking for an experienced Groundsman to become part of the Facilities team at the Pimpama Campus. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and focuses on maintaining outdoor areas, gardens, sports fields, and carrying out selected maintenance work.
What the role involves
- Keeping gardens, landscaped areas, and grounds in good condition using the manual tools and machinery supplied.
- Carrying out sports field upkeep, including line marking and preparing fields and equipment such as volleyball nets.
- Supporting landscaping projects that help improve the campus environment.
- Ensuring the areas visible to parents, including the front of school, buildings, playground equipment, and surrounding grounds, are maintained to a very high standard and treated as the top priority.
- Following safe work practices at all times in line with Australian Standards.
- Attending all meetings requested by the Facilities Manager, including those with a spiritual focus.
Experience and qualification expectations
Applicants should ideally have prior groundskeeping experience and a grounds-related qualification, or alternatively a trade qualification or similar industry background with substantial building experience.
The role requires someone who is physically capable of working outdoors in all seasons and performing manual work for most of the day when needed. A team-focused approach is also important.
Working arrangements
This is a full-time, onsite position at the Pimpama Campus. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm.
Application requirements
Applicants must provide a curriculum vitae that includes details for at least two recent professional referees and at least one referee who can speak to the applicant’s suitability to work within the values and culture of an expanding Christian school, preferably a pastor or minister.

The Logan Village Campus, in south-west Logan, has more than 1,000 students from Early Learning through to High School.
Compliance and screening
King’s Christian College follows the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (QLD) to support the safety and wellbeing of all students. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Queensland Teacher Registration check or Blue Card screening, along with any other checks needed for the role.
