VirtualAd is a capital-raising marketing agency that supports businesses in attracting retail and accredited investors through paid media. The team develops and runs the creative and media systems that fuel investor acquisition for client fundraising campaigns.
The company operates with a compact, fast-paced team and is currently expanding. This position owns a major part of the creative production process and has a direct, measurable influence on client results.
Role Overview
The Graphic & Video Designer is accountable for creating the video and design assets used in paid media and funnel campaigns. Video is the main focus of the role, with static and graphic design forming an important secondary responsibility.
Creative work is structured around a Hook → Story → Offer framework. The role demands steady, high-volume production and frequent revisions, with an emphasis on conversions and performance rather than visual style alone. Since the audience consists of investors, the output must combine direct-response standards with the trust and credibility expected in financial messaging.
Video Production
- Develop, edit, and deliver video advertisements for Meta, YouTube, and Performance Max using the Hook → Story → Offer structure.
- Create landing page videos that help move visitors from click to conversion.
- Produce video assets for mid-funnel automations such as nurture, reminder, and re-engagement sequences that help convert and reactivate existing leads.
- Edit long-form video sales letters and webinar or event footage for use in funnels and email campaigns.
- Turn UGC, testimonials, and founder or talking-head recordings into ad-ready creative.
- Create motion graphics and data visuals that highlight track record, returns, and other trust-building signals.
- Resize and reformat videos for different placements and aspect ratios, including 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, and 16:9.
- Add captions, subtitles, and on-screen text designed for viewers watching without sound.
- Produce several versions of each concept, including hook variations and shortened cutdowns, to support creative testing.
- Edit footage supplied by outside videographers into polished assets ready for platform use.
- Build videos using stock footage, motion graphics, and existing assets when original footage is unavailable.
Graphic and Static Design
- Create static and motion-based image ads for paid social and search campaigns.
- Design email templates and supporting graphics for marketing and automation workflows.
- Produce website and landing page visuals, layouts, and supporting design elements.
- Develop sales and marketing collateral such as pitch decks, sales decks, ebooks, lead magnets, and other client-facing materials.
- Build and maintain reusable templates and asset libraries to enable scalable production.
Production and Workflow
- Own the execution stage of the creative process from brief to production, delivery, and iteration.
- Keep output consistent across several active client accounts without sacrificing quality.
- Use feedback from performance data and strategist input to guide the next round of creative work.
- Maintain organized file structures, version control, and clear naming systems.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in graphic and video design, preferably in a performance marketing or direct-response setting such as an agency or high-growth brand.
- Advanced video editing ability in Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools, with the capacity to take an idea from concept to a finished asset independently.
- Strong graphic design skills in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent software for both static and motion work.
- Working understanding of platform formats and requirements for Meta, YouTube, and Performance Max.
- A performance-oriented mindset, with the ability to read creative metrics and adjust edits toward conversion.
- Proven ability to sustain fast output and rapid iteration while preserving quality.
- Comfort working from briefs and direction supplied by the Creative Strategist and Design Director.
- Ability to use AI tools to improve workflow efficiency while keeping the creative original.
- Must be based in Canada.
Working Relationships
The role works closely with the Creative Strategist, who defines the direction and briefs; the Paid Media team, which launches the creative and manages spend; the Design Director, who oversees standards and gives feedback; and Client Solutions & Strategy Managers, who share client context, priorities, and timelines.
