Job description
About Carv
Carv is a personalised AI ski coaching platform and motion-sensor product designed to help skiers improve through real-time audio guidance and tailored feedback. The system tracks movement data from more than one billion turns, and the brand reaches millions of skiers each year. The team is expanding its visual presence across ski destinations worldwide and is looking for a designer to support that growth.
The Role
This is a mid-to-senior level Graphic & Motion Designer contract covering the ski season. The role focuses on lifting the quality of Carv’s visual output across brand, product, campaigns and content. You will work closely with the Senior Content Lead in a lean, fast-paced creative environment and take ownership of projects from concept through delivery.
The season includes a refreshed brand direction, a major product launch, out-of-home advertising, animated coaching content for the app, and motion assets for YouTube, social media and paid campaigns. The position offers significant creative responsibility and the chance to build work that is widely seen by skiers. There is also an opportunity to ski with the team and test the product on snow.
What You’ll Create
- Brand and identity assets that refine and strengthen Carv’s visual presence across product and marketing touchpoints
- Motion-led content for YouTube and social channels
- Animated and 3D/CGI visual explanations of ski technique
- In-app visual content that supports skier improvement
- Ad creatives for paid media, produced and iterated quickly
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience spanning both graphic design and motion design, with a portfolio that demonstrates strength in each area
- Strong command of Adobe tools, including After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere
- 3D/CGI experience using tools such as Blender or Cinema 4D is a significant advantage
- A sharp sense for branding and the ability to make an identity feel more distinctive, polished and confident
- Comfort working independently from brief to final asset in a startup-style environment with limited sign-off layers
- Genuine knowledge of skiing and an interest in the sport, as the work is aimed at ski-specific audiences
Location & Working Pattern
The main office is in Vauxhall, London, and the team works from the office three days per week. The employer is open to flexibility for the right candidate, with a consistent office rhythm expected. During the season, there may also be an option to work from the Innsbruck office and use staff accommodation in the Alps.
Remuneration & Perks
- Contract pay of £35,000 to £50,000, depending on experience
- Your own Carv device and lift passes when working on the mountain
- Regular time on snow during winter for product testing and skiing
- Carvfest in April, including flights to Innsbruck for spring skiing, après-ski and team awards
Application Materials
Applicants are asked to submit a CV, a brief cover letter highlighting their strongest work and skiing background, and a portfolio and/or showreel link.
Additional Information
This is described as a fixed-term contract for the period from September to March, while the role overview also refers to the full ski season running from September through April. The team is small, and the work produced will be seen by a very large audience of skiers.
Carv also mentions that candidates can view examples of the company’s output on its YouTube channel.
