Job description

Overview

PepsiCo is hiring a Mid-Level Graphic Designer to produce visually strong design work for packaging and retail programs across print and digital channels. The role focuses on turning brand narratives into polished, accurate, and production-ready assets that stay true to the brand while supporting business goals.

You will report to a Senior Designer and collaborate with cross-functional partners on broader creative efforts while also taking ownership of selected projects from concept through final delivery. This position suits a designer who respects brand systems, knows how to extend them thoughtfully, and is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with a strong attention to detail.

Design & Execution

  • Develop high-quality creative assets for packaging, retail, and digital touchpoints, managing work from concept through production.
  • Convert creative briefs and brand standards into refined, production-ready design solutions.
  • Independently handle assigned design work while contributing to larger team initiatives.
  • Adapt and expand brand systems across new formats and surfaces in a consistent way.
  • Maintain visual consistency and protect brand integrity across all deliverables.

Packaging & Production

  • Create packaging layouts and concepts that follow brand guidelines while keeping the full product line visually connected.
  • Implement packaging revisions such as ingredient updates, UPC changes, regulatory edits, and layout improvements.
  • Build accurate print-ready files with outlined type, embedded assets, and verified dielines.
  • Organize files clearly for internal stakeholders and outside vendors.
  • Check artwork and proofs carefully before release to confirm quality, consistency, and accuracy.

Workflow & Project Ownership

  • Manage assigned packaging and retail design tasks from intake through final file handoff.
  • Track work, reviews, and approvals using tools such as Asana, Ziflow, or similar platforms.
  • Monitor revision cycles, proofing, and sign-off stages to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Identify production risks early and suggest practical solutions.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Senior Designer, creative directors, and marketing partners to align on objectives and direction.
  • Present creative work and explain design choices clearly, while incorporating feedback effectively.
  • Offer thoughtful ideas and constructive input during team reviews.
  • Support wider creative work and step in on other assignments as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position is $66,900 to $111,950. The final starting salary may depend on location, verified job-related skills, experience, and education.

Paid time off is available subject to eligibility and may include paid parental leave, vacation, sick leave, and bereavement leave. PepsiCo also provides a broad benefits package, subject to elections and eligibility, that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, an Employee Assistance Program, insurance coverage such as accident, group legal, and life, and a Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.

Qualifications

You should bring a graphic design background and a portfolio that demonstrates packaging and production design experience. You should understand how to translate a brand across dielines with strong attention to detail, color, and print accuracy.

The role requires comfort with print and production workflows, including CMYK, PMS, and INX color handling, dieline setup, text outlining, image embedding, and vendor file preparation. You should be able to produce clean, press-ready artwork and ensure files are ready for consumer-facing output.

Strong detail orientation is important. Your work should be accurate, polished, and carefully checked for items such as UPC placement, spelling, and ingredient information.

You should be open to feedback, willing to learn from others, and able to ask for input while sharing your own ideas. Accountability matters in this role: you are expected to own projects end to end, meet deadlines, follow through on commitments, and help wherever needed.

Success also depends on being collaborative, self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting. When time permits, you may also contribute to sales collateral, retail POS materials, or other print-based creative work.

Additional Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in graphic design.
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant capability.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to adjust to changing project demands and priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Microsoft Suite and project management tools such as Asana.
  • Self-driven mindset and strong team collaboration skills.
