Job description

About the Role

This role is part of a collaborative, support-oriented professional services environment where design contributes directly to how the firm presents itself. The position focuses on creating visual assets that strengthen the organization’s identity across print, digital, interactive, environmental, and video formats.

Summary

Working from creative direction, the designer develops graphic materials that support the firm’s branding across a wide range of channels. The role partners closely with the Art Director to shape and deliver visual identity work for attorneys and internal stakeholders across the organization.

Location and Work Setup

This position may be based in any U.S. office and includes a hybrid work arrangement. The specific mix of remote and in-office work will be determined with the hiring manager or supervisor and may change at the firm’s discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Turn business objectives and design briefs into clear, engaging visual concepts.
  • Build and apply brand visuals so messaging remains consistent, polished, and recognizable across all touchpoints.
  • Select the most effective format or medium to achieve the intended communication impact.
  • Create concepts, graphic components, and production-ready layouts using professional design tools.
  • Contribute flexibly to a wide range of projects, from integrated campaigns to presentation decks.
  • Work through client objectives, budgets, and revision cycles while coordinating with the Creative Project Manager to keep work on schedule.
  • Use approved image libraries, illustration assets, and typography standards to meet internal communications needs.
  • Develop original artwork when a project calls for it.
  • Prepare press-ready files, check quality before vendor release, and attend press checks when needed.
  • Support digital design work for web-based and interactive applications.
  • Assist the video team with motion graphics and design support for video projects.
  • Design environmental graphics and office signage systems.
  • Act as a design advocate by helping colleagues understand the strategic value of strong design.
  • Present design solutions, user insights, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Maintain a high quality bar and ensure only strong work is delivered to clients.
  • Collaborate across teams to raise overall creative standards.
  • Stay current on design trends and emerging technologies to improve output.
  • Support day-to-day brand operations.
  • Be available for occasional work outside normal hours on high-profile projects when necessary.
  • Handle other assigned duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • A strong, varied design portfolio is essential.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects.
  • Figma experience is an advantage.
  • Comfort working on both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Good command of design fundamentals and print production workflows.
  • Experience with motion graphics and video editing is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to Cinema 4D or similar 3D tools is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a service mindset.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to use AI tools to improve design productivity is highly desirable.
  • Reliable follow-through and a proactive, self-directed working style.
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a fast-moving team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage many projects at once.
  • Excellent digital file organization and management skills.
  • Three years of professional experience in print and digital design.
  • Previous experience as a graphic designer or in a closely related role.
