About the role
Acclime is an international professional services firm that supports clients with compliance, company secretarial, accounting, and bookkeeping services. The business works closely with organisations expanding into new markets, helping them adjust and operate effectively in new environments.
The R&D tax team is seeking a graduate to begin their career as a Graduate R&D Consultant. This opportunity suits a confident, capable person who wants a challenging intellectual role and is ready to grow in a fast-moving business with a strong client base.
The position is available across the Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney offices, and remote work is possible for candidates based elsewhere.
Key responsibilities
- Support clients by answering questions about whether their research and development activities meet eligibility requirements.
- Prepare summary reports describing proposed R&D work, including technical details of the activities for internal review.
- Carry out periodic reviews of client R&D activity and related expenditure.
- Calculate R&D expenditure.
- Prepare formal submissions to the Department of Industry (AusIndustry) for assessment.
- Work with AusIndustry and the Australian Taxation Office when follow-up or clarification is needed.
Candidate profile
- A tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, law, engineering, IT, life sciences, or mathematics.
- Strong computer skills, with solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Clear communication skills, strong attention to detail, a reliable work ethic, and a positive, confident attitude.
- The ability to approach problems creatively and think beyond standard solutions.
- Good organisational ability and confidence handling multiple competing priorities.
- Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
