Role overview

A medical device diagnostics business is seeking a Graduate Development Scientist to join its team at a site on The Wirral, Merseyside. The position is a permanent, hands-on scientific role focused on supporting product development and improvement work in a regulated environment.

What you will do

  • Work with colleagues on scientific studies that contribute to developing and enhancing products.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records for ongoing projects.
  • Follow quality standards and operational procedures at all times.
  • Use knowledge of biochemistry tools and methods, including immunochemistry, microfluidics and electrochemistry.
  • Apply strong PCR and molecular biology knowledge in day-to-day work.
  • Carry out data analysis and statistical review as needed.
  • Approach technical challenges with strong problem-solving skills.

Candidate profile

Applications are encouraged from graduates with a BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or a closely related discipline. Prior experience in a medical device setting and exposure to ISO 13485 would be beneficial, though not essential.

Additional information

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a salary range of £26,000 to £28,000 per year, plus company benefits. The role offers an immediate start, and training will be provided for the specialist equipment used in the position. The business works across a broad range of technologies, from early concept development through to the final operational environment.
