Role Overview

The Government Relations Officer is a full-time, on-site position located in the Eastern Region. The role centers on developing and sustaining effective relationships with government departments, regulatory authorities, and public-sector stakeholders. It also requires close monitoring of laws, policies, and regulatory updates that could influence AFCC’s business activities and project delivery.

Key Accountabilities

In this position, you will prepare concise briefs and reports, arrange and support meetings with government representatives, and assist with approvals and permit-related processes. You will represent AFCC’s interests in consultations and discussions, work alongside internal teams to align business plans with regulatory expectations, contribute to advocacy efforts, and keep leadership informed of policy changes in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A solid background in government relations or public-sector engagement, including experience working within regulatory and policy environments.
  • Working knowledge of local government structures, processes, and decision-making systems in the Eastern Region.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with officials, industry groups, and community stakeholders.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Business, or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior experience in the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or construction sectors is an advantage.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills, with the ability to manage several priorities in a busy environment.
  • A high standard of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Comfort using common office applications and digital collaboration tools.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience.
  • Saudi nationals only.
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Arabic.
