Job description

About the Company

McCormick is a major food manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality, safety, and a collaborative workplace. The company values innovation, teamwork, and a people-first culture, and has earned recognition as an Employer of Choice. Its Australian portfolio includes well-known brands such as Keens, Aeroplane Jelly, and Gourmet Garden, reflecting its position as “The Future of Flavor”.

Role Summary

This full-time, practical role is based at the Palmwoods site on the Sunshine Coast. The facility is growing, with upgrades including a new west office and additional car parking. The successful candidate will help keep the site clean, hygienic, compliant, and ready for audits by maintaining strong GMP standards across production support areas, amenities, and external spaces.

You will be part of the site support team and play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping shared spaces stocked, tidy, and functioning well throughout the day. The position requires a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and professional environment.

Key Duties

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and GMP compliance across the site.
  • Clean and service production support areas and shared facilities.
  • Monitor and replenish consumables at hygiene stations and other shared points.
  • Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks and general site support work.
  • Keep external areas maintained to a high standard.
  • Complete daily checks, document findings, and follow required procedures.
  • Report issues quickly and help ensure the site remains audit-ready.
  • Work independently while also supporting the broader team as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will have experience in hygiene, GMP, food safety, cleaning, or a similar environment. You should understand the importance of cleanliness and safety standards, be comfortable working on your own, and be able to manage routine tasks reliably and efficiently. A careful eye for detail, confidence with checklists and records, and a proactive approach to identifying and fixing problems are all important for success in this role.

Benefits

McCormick offers a supportive workplace with a focus on balance, wellbeing, and recognition. Benefits highlighted for this role include flexible scheduling, health and wellness initiatives, community involvement opportunities, family-friendly leave policies, employee recognition and rewards, team engagement activities such as food trucks and BBQs, and novated lease options through SG Fleet and Toyota.

Additional Information

The employer describes itself as an equal opportunity organisation and says qualified applicants will be considered without discrimination based on sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, colour, religion, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, or any other legally protected characteristic.

Unsolicited CVs from recruitment agencies or third parties will not be accepted, and no fees or costs will be paid for CVs sent directly to line managers.
