Job description
Role Overview
Adani Power is looking for a General Manager to oversee site-level human resources operations in Korba, Chhattisgarh. This position is responsible for aligning HR practices with business goals while supporting the workforce, leadership team, and compliance needs of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all HR activities at the plant/site and ensure they are consistent with the organization’s people policies and wider business direction.
- Create and execute workforce plans so the site has the right manpower, deployment model, and succession readiness.
- Plan and run employee engagement programs that strengthen collaboration, productivity, and a culture grounded in care, sustainability, and empowerment.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives to secure and retain strong talent for operational as well as leadership positions.
- Work closely with site leadership and business teams to provide practical HR advice for daily and strategic decisions.
- Strengthen performance management by defining goals, enabling regular feedback, and supporting transparent and fair appraisal processes.
- Maintain adherence to labour legislation, health and safety rules, and industrial relations requirements relevant to the power/energy industry and Jharkhand state regulations.
- Handle employee relations matters proactively, including concerns, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution, to support a healthy workplace.
- Design and deliver learning programs that build technical skills and leadership capability across the site.
- Administer compensation and benefits in line with internal policy and market standards.
- Support diversity and inclusion efforts to ensure an equitable workplace where different perspectives are respected.
- Coordinate with corporate HR teams on policy implementation, audits, and roll-out of HR systems.
- Lead change initiatives linked to restructuring, technology adoption, or process improvements, ensuring smooth transition and stakeholder support.
- Track HR metrics and prepare regular reports on workforce trends, attrition, engagement, and compliance for senior review.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all HR-related matters.
Qualifications
A postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required. An MBA/PGDM with an HR specialization is preferred.
