Job description

Role overview

Thomas Thor is growing internationally and is moving toward a more consistent, scalable HR operating model. The company is hiring a Global HR Generalist / HR Coordinator to help run HR operations, keep systems and records accurate, support employee experience initiatives, and assist with compliance across several regions.

In this position, you will be part of the global HR team and play an important role in coordinating HR workflows, maintaining HR platforms, and supporting employees and managers across the business. You will partner with regional leaders, operations, finance, and outside HR specialists to help deliver a positive employee experience and consistent people practices.

This role is a strong fit for an HR professional who wants broader international exposure. You do not need prior hands-on knowledge of employment rules in every region; support will be provided as you build expertise in HR processes and employment practices across the USA, UK, Netherlands, Middle East, France, and other markets as the business expands.

HR systems and process coordination

  • Assist with day-to-day administration and continued development of HiBob, including keeping employee records and HR data accurate.
  • Help manage reporting, access permissions, and document storage inside the system.
  • Support the design and improvement of onboarding, offboarding, and wider employee lifecycle processes so employees have a consistent experience across regions.
  • Maintain and update the Global HR Handbook, including local guidance and supporting documents for different regions.
  • Contribute to HR reporting and data handling that supports business decisions.

Culture and employee engagement

  • Support global engagement initiatives that help connect a distributed workforce and strengthen Thomas Thor’s culture and values.
  • Help coordinate cross-regional activities, wellbeing programs, and team-building efforts.
  • Collect employee feedback and identify opportunities to improve the overall employee experience.
  • Support initiatives that improve retention, engagement, and inclusion across the organization.

Payroll coordination and finance partnership

  • Work with HR, Finance, and Operations to keep employee information accurate and current.
  • Assist with monthly payroll administration, including tracking new starters, leavers, pay changes, and bonuses.
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers so required HR data is submitted on time and correctly.
  • Support payroll reconciliation and employee data audits when needed.

Compliance and regional support

  • Help maintain employment contracts, HR policies, and employee documentation across multiple regions.
  • Coordinate with external HR and employment law advisors to help meet local compliance requirements.
  • Provide first-line support to managers and employees, escalating more complex matters to senior leadership or external experts when needed.
  • Assist with compliance-related projects and documentation reviews across different jurisdictions.

Recruitment and performance support

  • Coordinate recruitment tasks such as interview scheduling, candidate communication, onboarding administration, and offer paperwork.
  • Support hiring managers and regional leaders in delivering a smooth and consistent recruitment experience.
  • Assist with performance management, employee development, and goal-setting cycles within HiBob.
  • Support onboarding and compliance for the US contractor workforce in partnership with commercial, operations, and finance teams.

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of experience in HR, People Operations, HR Administration, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, or a similar field. Experience with employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, offboarding, records management, recruitment coordination, or HR administration is important. Familiarity with HR systems is useful; HiBob experience is an advantage but not mandatory. Strong organization, administration, coordination, and attention to detail are essential, along with confidence working with multiple stakeholders across teams and locations. A genuine interest in learning international HR practices and employment requirements across regions is also important. Experience in payroll support, benefits, compliance, or contractor management would be helpful, though it is not required.

Working style and personal attributes

  • Well organized and detail-focused, with the ability to manage several priorities, deadlines, and requests at once.
  • Keen to expand knowledge of international HR operations, employment practices, and compliance.
  • Collaborative and able to build positive relationships across functions, teams, and geographies.
  • Process-oriented, with an interest in improving workflows and maintaining reliable records.
  • Clear and professional communicator when working with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Adaptable in a growing international business where priorities may change.
  • Proactive, follows through on tasks, and looks for ways to improve the employee experience.

Why this opportunity stands out

  • Chance to build international HR experience in a growing global organization.
  • Exposure to HR operations across several regions and working environments.
  • Supportive setting with learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements, with part-time applicants considered for the right person.
  • Opportunity to help shape and improve HR processes as the company grows.
