Job description

About the Role

Parsons Corporation is looking for a meticulous GIS/CAD Technician to work from Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This position supports the coordination between geographic information systems and computer-aided design, helping deliver accurate spatial data, maps, and engineering outputs for major infrastructure and master-planning initiatives.

You will help keep spatial information reliable, create polished mapping deliverables, and support smooth information flow across multiple project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Convert and transfer information between CAD files such as DWG/DXF and GIS data formats including shapefiles and geodatabases, while preserving alignment, projections, and attribute accuracy.
  • Prepare, revise, and maintain themed maps, presentation layouts, and visual exhibits for engineers, project leads, and client-facing reviews.
  • Update spatial databases and carry out QA/QC checks so that geometry and attribute data comply with project and client metadata rules.
  • Support drafting work by creating and editing 2D layouts, site plans, and utility network drawings using sketches, field inputs, and design requirements.
  • Run basic spatial analyses such as queries, buffer studies, and overlays to assist with constraint mapping and site suitability assessment.
  • Coordinate with GIS analysts, CAD managers, and design engineers to resolve data issues and improve data exchange processes.

Required Background

The role calls for a bachelor’s degree or diploma in GIS, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a closely related technical discipline, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience using both GIS and CAD tools.

Experience on large infrastructure, utility, or urban planning projects is highly preferred.

Technical and Professional Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of ESRI tools, especially ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Practical experience with Autodesk platforms, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Solid understanding of coordinate systems, projections, datums, and spatial data organization.
  • Exposure to automation tools such as FME or scripting in Python is an added advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
  • Ability to manage several mapping requests under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
